The Guru inspired him to work for the welfare of the people who were the down-trodden and neglected in society because of caste-difference and due to birth in poor family conditions. As per the wishes of Sree Narayana Guru he led a simple life and helped others. (In a recent speech at Sree Narayana Club, Irinjalakkuda (July 2000) Lonappan Nambadan, Irinjalakkuda MLA disclosed his conversation with Vaidyar where Vaidyar had told him about his abstinence from liquor business. True to the spirit of Guru, Vaidyar just didn't want any penny from that business, in spite of approached by many several times!)
