International Centre for Sree Narayana Guru Studies

Late Shri.K.R.Narayanan former President of India, performed the inauguration of the International Centre for Sree Narayana Guru Studies on 12th February 2005. Eminent Personalities from different walks of life like Shri.Ganesh Naik, Minister, Excise & Enviornment, Govt. of Maharashtra, Shri.Sanjiv Naik (Mayor, Navi Mumbai), Swami Sudhananda (Sivagiri Mutt), Swami Sachidananda (Gayathri Ashram, Chalakkudi), Prof.M.K.Sanoo, Justice K.Sukumaran, Dr.Vijayalayam Jayakumar, Shri.B.Aravindakshan (Gen.Secretary, Sree Narayana World Council, New York) also spoke on the occasion. The World Class Library set up on the 3rd floor was inaugurated on the same day (12.2.2005) by Hon’ble Minister Shri.Ganesh Naik.

One of the main object of the Centre is to set up a World Class Library with 50000 books on the life and teachings and philosophy of Sree Narayana Guru, all the books authored by Sree Narayana Guru and books on various religions, philosophy, history, psychology etc. and a Research Centre based on various aspects of Sree Narayana philosophy in affiliation with reputed Universities. The Centre also intends to organize Seminars on various subjects such as religious harmony, world peace, environmental issues and on any topic that will strengthen the secular fabric of our Country. The Centre will also work as a nucleus of all Sree Narayana Guru organizations across the world. The aim and object of the Centre is to remain as a catalyst in any movement that will preserve, protect and promote the irrevocable solidarity of mankind. For the functioning of the International Centre, the Samiti has constructed a four storeyed building with stilt area at ground floor (open hall), with a capacity of 1000 seats, and a mini auditorium with 800 seats capacity on the first floor, a conference hall on the second floor and various guests rooms and library on the third floor and a meditation centre at the top floor. A Shiv Mandir and Guru Mandir are also constructed in front of this building. Additional floors are being planned to utilize the additional FSI for 0.75 to 1.00. A Mandiram is constructed to preserve “Holy Teeth of Sree Narayana Guru” at Gurudevagiri.Seventh Gurudevagiri Theerthadanam and Prathishta Day Mahotsav was celebrated from 9th to 11th February 2008. On 9th February 2008 at 5.00 p.m. various cultural programmes were presented by members and their children.

Seventh Gurudevagiri Theerthadanam was held on 10th February 2008 in a grand manner. A long procession comprising of thousands of devotees, most of them in yellow attire, with Guru’s Portrait mounted at decorated chariots at proper positions along with attractive colourful glimpses, floats, kavadiyattam, chendamelam, shringerimelam etc. was a high light of the Theerthadanam on 10.2.2008. The grand procession from S.I.E.S.College Junction was flagged Off by Smt.Anjani Prabhakar Bhoir, Hon’ble Mayor, Navi Mumbai Mahanagar Palika. The procession started at 10.00 a.m. in the morning and reached Gurudevagiri at 12.00 Noon.

In the public meeting held in the afternoon of “Theerthadanam” Shri.Vayalar Ravi, Hon’ble Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs, Govt. of India was the Chief Guest. His Holiness Sachidananda Swamigal and His Holiness Saigon Swamigal graced the occasion with discourse. Shri.Ganesh Naik, Minister for Labour, Excise, Environment, Govt. of Maharashtra, Dr.P.Chandramohan, Eminent Cardiologist, Vice-Chancellor, Kannur University were Guests of Honour.

Seventh Anniversary of Prathishta was celebrated on 11th February 2008.

On 10th and 11th February 2008, devotees got a golden opportunity to see and adore the divine teeth of Sree Narayana Guru.

Eighth Gurudevagiri Theerthadanam and Prathishta Day Mahotsav were celebrated from 8th to 11th February 2009. On 8th February 09 a grand procession comprising of thousands of devotees, most of them in yellow attire, with Guru’s Portrait mounted at decorated chariots at proper positions along with attractive colourful glimpses, floats, kavadiyattam, chendamelam, nadaswaram etc. was the high light of the Theerthadanam.The procession was flagged off by Shri.Ganesh Naik, Hon.Minister, Excise and Environment, Govt of Maharashtra, Navi Mumbai Mayor Smt.Anjani Prabhakar Bhoir, Dy.Mayor Shri.Sasikant Birajdar was also present on the occasion.

In the public meeting held at 1.30 pm the afternoon Shri.M.G Pushpakaran leading business man and social worker in the Middle East was the Chief Guest.Dr.Geetha Suraj was the Chief Speaker. A book published by Shri.C.N.N. Nair on the English version of ‘Daivadasakam’ was also released on the occasion.On the second and third day, there was entertainment programs and Orchestra.11th February was the Prathishta day. Swami Sachidananda performed all the poojas on this day.
